Default 86 Accord carberated problems, please any kind of help

My 86 accord has been having these problems on and off for the last few years or so. When its hot the tach will just pretty much stop working and then whenever thats going on the idle kind of pulses real weird. And on occasion it'll just die and i'll end up having to wait till the engine is cooled to restart it. Whenever i try to restart when its like that, it just turns over but never really fires. Acts like its out of fuel even though i know there is gas in it. Any ideas would be very helpful. I've already replaced the fuel pump, fuel lines, oxygen sensor, and other random things inside of the carb. So any ideas would be extremely appreciated. thanks

The best 'clue' here is the tach problem, that leads to bad ignitor, dist pulse sensor, or coil problem.
When the engine won't start you could pull a plug wire from the dist. cap and check for spark while cranking.

yeah i checked the igniter and to be honest i have no idea what a dist pulse sensor is or where to find it, but yeah i was talking to another friend of mine i hadnt seen for awhile and he checked over everything too and really think its the coil, due to the process of elimination i think we've found the problem. thanks a lot for the help i'm gonna start lookin for a new coil. i'll letcha know if that was in fact the problem. and thanks again
