Default transmission gearing ratios already searched 95 civic cx and 95 civic si transmission gearing ratio

Hi I was just wondering and I have already searched and I used to know the website but I cant find it now. Is a d16z6 transmission shorter or longer than a cx or vx transmission and my hatch is turbo charged by the way and I would like a longer gear ratio transmission. Thanks

This could help
http://www.fatboyraceworks.com/gears/

If not, check the FAQ's section, you may be able to find what you're looking for in there.

Yes, this is the best one.

This is the one that I recommend from my FAQ, it's the best one I've seen, I use it, it's good, Bense uses it, need I say more?

if u are not looking for not too long of a gear ratio maybe u can use the dx tranny. from shortest to longest here: si/ex-dx-vx/cx

Oh, i didn't realize the OP's Q wasn't answered, I just thought he was looking for a gear ratio site.

Yeah, EX/Si is the shortest, DX is in the middle, then the VX and CX are the longest.

@ OP:
Sorry.

The ratios used for the CX transmission on that site are indeed correct.

Here's another site with similar information (but no calculator): http://home.cinci.rr.com/mistab0ne/tranny.html

You must not have searched long enough, There are thousands of posts on here that state that the z6 trans has "shorter" gearing than a vx/cx. Unless you want your car to be slower, you don't want "longer" gears.

from memory (so i could be wrong)
d16z6 trans
1st = 3.25
2nd = 1.9
3rd = 1.25
4th = 0.909
5th = 0.703, 0.75 found in del sol si
final = 4.25

cx/vx trans
1st = 3.25
2nd = 1.762
3rd = 1.066
4th = 0.853
5th = 0.703
final = 3.25

yes that's right 0.703 and not 0.702. it's actually 0.702702702702702702702702702702 but we're rounding here and not truncating.
