zc bearings

Default zc bearings

can i use any sohc d series bearings in a zc?this is what i have been told is the reason i am asking.if not what all can i use?any other engines interchange?

from my experience d16a6 bearings worked just fine....i went with clevite 77's and they fit just nicely

You can't just go slappin bearings in there and have everything be fine though.....
Make sure you guage everything and get the right size.

94-95 Civic EX muffler bearings are the same size as zc crank bearings.

well obviously your not going to go buy a set of bearings and just slap them in there and expect everything to be ok....you need to measure your crank journals and make sure you get the proper thinkness bearings

well i figured since this was the site thast everybody knew everything on then someone would know.i guess not.sorry for asking.if i was just going to buy a set of bearings and slap them in there then i would allready done that by now.i was just asking before i spent money on bearings just to get measurments off of.

its not that we dont know a lot, its just when it comes to each individual engine, you never know if the crankshaft has been machined before you got your hands on it, it could have spun a bearing in the past.....

however, D16a6 bearings, both rod and main's, WILL work...you just need to measure the crank to see if you need standard thinkness, or increased thickness because of the crank being machined in the past

why measure the crank?when you get oversized bearings it will say how bigger they are on the back side of the bearing.......my question wasnt asking about oversized bearings to begin with it was asking id any other d series bearings would work and if they would which ones would.
