Wisconsin Emissions Suck - Heres my idea to pass
So i took my car to get its emissions tested today, in Waukesha County. They failed me because i dont have the original airbox on my car. My actully tail pipe emissions actully passed. They said I need a closed air box no matter what. Ive got a full turbo setup running just 7psi, stock internals, 550cc injectors, hondata s200 engine management and a proper cat. If i put the stock air box back on the car should it run properly or are the injectors and the tuning map for the turbo not going to like the lack of air?
f that man just reregster your car in dane county, tell em youre going to uw-madison. no emmisions for you ever again. proof this works, my car, my buddies 300 zx, and vw gti. give it a shot
yeah they are bitching about no airbox, i dunno, the bitch working didnt seem with it. I do actully go to uw-madison and id like to register my car out there, but the DMV said i need to pass emissions before i can register my car out there.

prolly not, its a tight fit by the radiator and coolant catch can, i dunno if im even gonna be able to get the full air box on where its actully suppose to go. Has anyone else in WI passed emissions with an aftermarket intake?
wait WI emissions are more strict than chicago's? what is the world comming to?
Hell they didn't even pop the hood the last time I was in there. Felt like a Mc'Ds drive through. check the cap, scan for codes, thank you drive through....
in all seriousness though... if they demand a box'd filter pull the charge pipe for the test, drop in a OEM arm and box that sort of fits and pass the test. Even if the car runs like crap it will only be for a little bit.
Heck I've swapped parts back and forth at a gas station that was three blocks away from the test station. (passed the OBD1 sniffer test without a cat that time)
