Default Newbie ..couple of questions

ok...well i was in the middle of typing earlier and my damn power went out...but anyways basiclly i bought a 92 civic cx to drive to work cause i have an bagged 03 s-10 that i bought brand new and have done all the work to it..or atleast paid to do what i couldnt ..and it eats gas like its freakin candy.....so i bought the civic from a friend..it runs awsome and it has 118,000 miles on it...but omg its slow as a damn turtle and god help me if i want to actually want use the ac while im driving because then im pretty much going the speed of backwards but as old as it is its still getting 39 miles to the gallon so im not mad it ...besides its getting me out of all the stupid *** tickets i get in my mini...but this is the first import i have ever owned. the only other thing i have owned was my first car which was a 96 cavy z-24 which was a total pile..although it was pretty quick so anyways to my point i was wondering if i do finnaly get the bug to work on the civic ...which hopefully i can control myself and keep it my daily...but just incase...what is the easiest motor swap to do to these things ...ive heard with some motors you have to change the axles and all kinda crap...and i have been on quite a few forums and i know everyone gets mad when the newbies wont just search the forums...but i have been searching the internet for about a week now and i cant seem to find any answers to any of my questions.
basicly i just want a better motor that will allow me to go over 81 miles an hour going downhill... i have driven a vtec before ...it was an integra and i loved how the vtec or whatever it is kicks in....its pretty sweet....so yea im kinda looking for something with a little more power but i dont wanna hack this civic up and turn it into a peice of **** and i dont wanna start pooring money into it like i have done with my truck so any help would be appreciated ...im just looking it to it right now and want ideas and stuff..i dont wanna get all stupid crazy with it though...im a mini trucker at heart and i like my vehicles verry clean looking ! ill post a few pics because i know everyone loves pictures

hopefully i can make them work ill just post a photobucket link
all the glass work and tweed in the truck was done by yours truly

k, i had bought a cx also, i swaped in the d16z6 from a '95 ex coupe, it droped in in one day and i used the computer that was in the car already, it ran good but redlined @ 6500 still & didnt have v-tech, i then had a shop do the v-tech wireing and i put in the v-tech ecu in, it was fair considering what came in the car i ran a 15.5 with it so meh, i got bored and built a turbo kit using a cx manifold and toyota ct26 turbo from an '89 supra, also i used dsm blue top injectors 450cc, bov, and side mounted intercooler, i used a cheap apexi air/fuel controler to somewhat tune it real cheap under $500 making the turbo kit, safely ran 6psi and was real quick, beat several gst eclipses w/mods, and my causins '90 honda hb w/b18a1 so thats the way id go at least for the engine swap, same trany, same mounts, and same axels as what u already have!

you could get a b16 for pretty cheap (1200ish or less) and the swap isnt too hard.. and you'd have your vtec. you would lose gas milage though since b16 tranny has short gears.
@70 mph i'm right @ 3800-4000 rpms in 5th gear.

Probably your best option would be the D16z6 (92-95 civic ex). Cheap as hell, can find them basically anywhere, youll have VTEC like you want, and its direct bolt-up after you wire vtec.. good luck

Basically. Heres the FAQ'd write-up on the VTEC wiring. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=724252 As you will probably see, its no big deal. If you dont feel comfortable doing this, pretty much any shop can do it for around $50. Good luck
