A/c with a b18 in a civic si question...
I hope wes v could help me out with this one lol but anyway i'm abt to be back into the ef game from the dc4 scene. and i find this mint teal 91 civic si and it very clean but no a/c. so i was wondering how hard would it be to install a a/c into the engine bay with the b18b1. i know i would have to order the hasport a/c bracket. anything i need besides lines, compressor and stuff let me know. Cant wait to be back into the ef game!

I'm assuming you have seen my write-up and that was why I was singled out.

If the car originally had AC, then run on the hope that just getting the Hasport bracket and original hoses will work.
Depending on what engine mounts you have, it may be just that simple (the mounts define how close the engine is to the radiator).
Take your time and just address each item one at a time.
On my installation, I think I ran into just about every possible clearance problem, and was still able to work it out. (my mounts position the engine further forward than the Hasport ones)
If you have any specific questions, you can IM me any tiime.

i have the hasport motor mounts, and no it dont have the a/c lines but the car itself is a si. so i would have to get all the lines from the junkyard and new o rings.
It's hard to say if you should buy another compressor or not. If the old one worked, then just use it.
I'd recommend at a minimum, take the compressor and let it sit so that all the oil drains out. When you put the system back together, put in new oil.
As for the dryer; ya, you want to buy a new one and keep it sealed until you are ready to button up the system. You have to decide what type refrigerant you plan on using. The dryer you order has to match the refrigerant!!! In other words, an R12 dryer has different stuff in it than a dryer for R134. They both look the same from the outside!!!!
Another note; The oil you use should also match the type refrigerant used!!

my car has no orginal a/c lines or compressor in it. it just have the under dash stuff still and the wires for it also. so i would have to go and get all the lines from a hatchback like mines from a junkyard and use new o rings. my car is a 91 si hatchback if it matters .
