hey people i bought a automatic 94 del sol for my gf and i have a question about the car i dunno what is it but when im driving and whenever i slow at stop sign right b4 the car stop around 5mph my rpm goes up to like 2 k and drop down when i stop and just wondering what wrong and seems like the tranny doesnt shift to neutral when i slow down. also on the freeway the rpm is soo high around 4k doing around 70mph. also got 220miles on a tank of gas. can some1plz help me and tell what wrong and what the solution thanks in advance

 

The automatic tranny will never go to neutral when you slow down or even having a full stop, you need to shift to neutral to make it neutral.

 

220 is not bad for a full tank. I havent driven my auto for awhile but i think it should be at 4k for 70 and then once you hit 90 it will be like 5.5k i think.

 

This is why I hate having an automatic civic living in SF, f*cking gets shitty mileage...errr CIVIC FURY

 

i know that auto dont shift to neutral but when i drive other automatic car and when i realease the gas the rpm drop very low but for the delsol it just seem like it cant shift or something
