Default Testing for LSD?

Is it possible to check for LSD by spinning the wheels? Someone told me that I can spin one wheel forward and if the other spins in the backwards, then I don't have LSD. Can anyone verify this? Thanks!

they should both spin the same direction or do a burn out and look to see if theres one or 2 marks, or look in the diff where the axles go in if theres a bar running across the axle hole then its not lsd!

Yes, the easiest way is to pull out an axle and look inside with a flashlight. If you see a bar going through its an open diff(no lsd) if you can see clear through to the other axle you have a lsd

If you have LSD you should be more concerned about that giant koala flying overhead

lol how is that the easiest way? that involves jacking the car up, pulling the axle and then topping up the tranny fluid.

my tires spin oposite ways on my lsd car on a jack but spins both at the track or on the street.

OBX by the way

I have seen the same with Quaife and kaaz.

It all depends on how tight the spring washers are set up.

no, you can do it by only taking out one. you just have to look in there from one side or the other. the bar is big, so with a flashlight or shoplight, you wont miss it.

Spin one wheel forward, and if you start spinning backwards, you are on LSD.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

just go out and pull the ebrake then just dump it and do a nice burn out if you smoke both tires you have it. or if you leave two tire marks you have it. if only one then you dont. thats the easiest way of checking.

I don't know why you guys keep suggesting burnouts. A open diff can leave two black marks all day long. If you really want to test by spinning the tires you will have to get one tire on some loose or slick surface. If that tire spins and the other one doesn't move then you have an open diff. Open diff will send all the power to the wheel with the least resistance, so if both wheels are on grippy asphalt or concrete both will probably spin, you will need to get one on a slick surface and keep the other one on a grippy surface to really tell.

I bought the car with the engine already, and he told me it had lsd. I swear I even remember seeing LSD stamped on the tranny, but it isn't so I must have been dreaming or maybe on lsd... Now I wonder if it even has the type r cams he said were installed...

cant he just remove one axle, then try and drive the car a few feet? from what i was told, only an lsd trans would actually move the car foward
