Something I just thought of doing. Just hear me out.

For the past 2 years I would have loved to have as many possible pictures of the Expos as possible. Mainly because there would be pictures of myself in them since I am unable to snap my own pictures of myself. I do understand that some of you might not want to share your original work, but I believe if anyone that wants to use a certain picture for personal use, i.e. a picture of yourself ontrack and blowing it up to hang in your den, then GO For It! I paid $15 for one 8x10 there at the track, and since I didn't get the chance to edit it myself and then print, I feel like it was almost a waste of money. I would like to look through more photos and possibly have a few more blown up.

I just got done loading all my pictures that I happened to take (didn't seem like many while taking them, but have around 240 pictures totalling about 650mb) onto my laptop. What I would like to do is burn anyone a copy of everything I have and mail them out. A simple way of saying thanks to everyone out there. And in return hopefully others will feel they would like to share their originals as well. I just know trying to upload all or any of these would take much longer than burning and mailing out.

Email, IM, call, or leave a message and we can get to exchanging. Also if anyone would be up to sharing original pics of past Expos, I think we could work that out as well.

Well, it looks like this became somewhat desired. I just got done packing all the CDs into my own intuitive packaging. I couldn't find what I was looking to send these CDs in. The packing might be reusable if you careful opening. I will be going to the post office Friday before I head to work. So some might get on Saturday, but most will get on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of next week.

If anyone else is interested in sharing, please send me your mailing info via IM, and I will get a 2nd batch going. Sorry it took so long guys, I still am not even unpacked from Expo!

I hope everyone will find a couple pictures of themselves in my photos.

I am now also realizing that maybe not everyone is baller enough to be posting while traveling home, or they just aren't home yet.... so this might still actually take off if everyone sees this.

 

I shot a little over 3 gigs worth of photos. LOL.

 

I'm down for trading CD's/DVD's via mail with others.

same here, my wife shot nearly a gig of photos I am going to edit/upload some of them... but all 500 might take a while

 

I've got 3.5gb worth of pics. I might upload them all in one big zip file.

Split them up in Zip files, you have to option to do so when you compress them.

 

I'm actually building an Adobe web gallery now. It will have 100 pixel thumbnails and then the full res picture when you click on the thumbnail. I removed so family pics that were in that folder and it is now 2.87gb. If my math is correct:
GB - 2.87

Upload speed of my cable modem - 512kb
Second to upload - 47022
Minutes to upload - 783
Hours to upload - 13

Assuming no other web traffic.

I would say that does sound about right. Man, that's long!!!

Everyone should have IM. I guess I should start this off by asking for your mailing info. The quicker you get me your address, the faster the CD goes out. If you guys know anyone else that took pictures and hasn't seen this thread, just relay the info... and hopefully we will have a selection of pictures way better than the "event Disc" from the photograhper!

Well, I just got done labeling and packaging up all 11 CDs as of this morning, and I plan on going back to bed soon. I will most likely make it to the post office before I head to work on Friday. So be checking your mailboxes soon for a crazy looking envelop that looks like it came from UPS.

Yes, I used UPS packaging because I could find anything, that was FREE, to send these CDs in. Just trying to keep the cost down, since that's what all of this was about!

 

So... I'm going to need everyone else's address as well for my shipments.

I just mailed out the first 11 CDs as of Noon 6/22/07 (Friday) from zip 46805, Indiana.

Have fun with these guys! Also if anyone else is down for a copy and would like to share their's just send me your mailing info.
