Default Expo 7 guys: How did PIC suspension fare on the track???

Hey guys,

Those of you who attended Expo 7 this week, and were running on the new PIC Select Coilovers, how were they? Any issues, concerns, or comments on their performance or reliability? Were they dope or just "meh"?

I'm purchasing the Select R3 (12KF, 14KR) in the next few weeks and I just wanted to hear some testimonials before I decide 100% Other choices at the moment are the Buddy Club Race Spec, TEIN RA, or Spoon N1.

I've been for a ride in BabyNSX's R with the Selects and was very impressed. What does everyone else think?

For the price, you can't really beat PIC Select. I would say Spoon N1 performs better, but you're talking about double the price (new vs new).

i have had ZERO issues with the PIC Select3's with 14k/18k for the last 18 months of track use....I have been daily driving them now for the last 2 months and still no issues. Had them on the at the expo and the car was more than settled in the corners.

PIC is top-notch! You can go spend more money if you'd like, but bang for buck i think that PIC is damn hard to beat

With their reputation it makes me wanna sell my Spoon N1's and pick up some PIC's . Good customer service and being involved in the community speaks volumes.

Got those on order already Saaaaa-weeet!

I really do agree with PIC's envolvement in the community. So many of the companies we buy parts from couldn't give two ***** about who buys their product. Good to see someone generally cares.

What PIC is doing is nice, but it is nothing new. Koni does the same thing and frankly I'm not sure a set of SPSS Konis on custom rate Ground Controls isn't still a superior suspension.

For a bit more $$$$ though.

<-----Has taken an interest in PIC suspensions. I guess sponsoring pays off.

2 words...

CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

Come on guys, this is the 2nd Expo and 1 WTDR event I know they have sponsered. These guys are a company dedicated to their base group, and that group being us. They are top notch, and any questions, comments or concerns with them will not go unheard.

I have yet to have a single issue with my PIC setup. Ran excellant at VIR!!! Very flat, as was mentioned by Andy at CMP.

FWIW, I'll be buying 2 more sets soon. One for the DD which will occasionally see the track... And one for the 97 I'm hunting down.

Honestly, if it weren't going to be a track *****, I'd be all over yours. But because of structural... blah blah blah ****... I'll be looking for one without a sunroof.

Besides, this one isn't going to be mine. It's for my old man whom all of you are responsible for him making a decision at Expo...

HE'S SELLING THE TRUCK (his beloved lightning) 66 Stang and Boat.

WHY???

Well so he can get a 97, 2 car enclosed trailer and an F250 Diesel to tow it all with.

I have the Mugen 5 way's currently and Expo was the first time I tracked the car with them on. It may be because I have the stock rear sway bar, but I thought that it handled almost too soft.

Has anyone driven a car with a the Mugen 5 way's and PIC selects?

Ryan,

I just got back from Expo last night (2AM).

I can’t say enough good things about the PIC coilovers. Jim from PIC got a ride in my car and was amazed himself how neutral and well behaved my car was. More then a few people got a good look at my car as it carved up through the esses and commented on how well behaved the car looked.

For the price I cannot believe there is anything out there with the same performance and customer service as PIC.

This was both mine (teal EF hatch), and my partner Victor (white EG w/ green cage) first event since switching to PIC's. They defiantly exceeded our expectations. They handled extremely well on the track and were problem free even on my 17 hour drive to Virginia and back. I would defiantly recommend PIC to those of you in the market for a new setup. I also can't say enough about Jim and Al. They genuinely care, they have gone out of their way on numerous occasions to attend track days in support all of us and their product. `

Paid Jim and Al for my set of Select R3s (12k/14k) @ Expo this week, I should have them by Monday to Wednesday next week.

Cory sorry about not having them there, but honestly I would have broken down and cried if I lost another set of coilovers to facking airport security.

Mugen 5 way as in the "street" application complete kit (gold colored)? If so, they're way too soft for the track. You could rock the larger JDM rear bar and it'll still be too soft. But that's just my opinion. Nice and comfortable enough for street and occasional autocross but I think stock suspension is actually even better for the track.
