HX intake diameter
ordering parts for my 96 hx that I just bought and need a little help.....I want to take the stock air box out and put on a k&n cone filter on the end of the hose....but I don't get the car until Friday due to some minor repairs....so what size is the hose diameter?...and second any preferences......K&N or AEM filters?
if you're getting a kit just get one that fit's that car or the ex model. the kit will come with the right reducer for your TB. typically 3 inch is what you'll get from ebay and most reputable manufacturers. i think aem is sometimes 2.5 or 2.75, but i don't really know for sure.
all you really need to know is that whatever you get there is a silicone coupler to make it work.

my fault shoulda explained better.....i just want to take the box out....and leave the stock piping to the throttle body....just put a cone filter on the end of the stock plastic tubing....and i need to know what size that stock tubing is so that I can get a cone filter with the same inlet diameter as the plastic tubing...
The stock tubing is very rubbery. You won't be able to clamp down on the stock tubing with a cone filter. You'll need at least a small metal tube 3" in diameter and anywhere from 4-6 inches long.
