Starting car for first time
im just about ready to start my car for the first time since the turbo has been put on, is there anything i need to know or be aware of before turning the car over? Is there anything i need to do with the turbo before starting the car? anyway to get oil to the turbo before starting car or will it be fine...
Prime it first, by disconnecting the fuel clips so the car does not start it just turns over. You can remove the return line until oil comes out, then that way u know their is oil in the turbo. Hook the return like up and the clips then start it and tune immediatly!
alright cool, so thats all i gotta do is disconnect the clips on the injectors, turn over till oil comes out of the return line and im good? yea im not even driving un tuned im just gona make sure it starts, thanks alot.
Don't bother disconnecting the injector clips, that is extra work which is not needed.
Make sure you put oil in the Engine and Tranny, and double check to make sure you got all the bolts tight.

2. Spark plugs removed
3. Then crank in 5 second intervals until oil light goes out.
and then tune that baby.

alright cool..one more quick question, I have everything done on the car except i still have the stock clutch, can i get the tune done and then install the clutch I have? or do i need to install the clutch before tune...
different clutches shouldn't affect/effect (???) your tune at all (unless your getting tuned on a slipping clutch
). you can tune first, then put new clutch in.
are you sure your clutch is about to die? or do you know your clutch wont handle the amount of power your gonna put out, so your planning on a clutch upgrade now?

well its a 94 and im pretty sure its the same clutch the car started with, it feels nice for now and ill keep it as long as i can but i already have another one so whenever the one I have now goes ill throw the other one in.
how much power do you plan on making?
If I were you, I would go ahead and upgrade the clutch now depending on how much power you want to make....
It would suck to break your clutfch on the dyno, paying close to 200 or so per hour to tune.

for that you'll definitely wanna get a new clutch.
I've read of a few people having stock clutch after boosting, but I think they are extremely lucky...
and If that clutch is 13 years old.. you'll definitely want to get a new one.

im def gona upgrade clutch but I just might not have enough time to do it before getting the tune, are you saying for around 250-280 hp I should def upgrade clutch before tune or just in general.
Look at it this way, if you tune it and the clutch slips you will have to come back to retune it once you get the new clutch installed.
Which will cost you extra money.
If you change the clutch and then tune you will not have to worry about it slipping and you will have a good tune.
This is from many people's experiences not just opinions.
So use a little more time to make your car mechanically sound first before moving to the tune.

but the thing is im was kinda worried about putting the brand new clutch in and then pushing it hard on the dyno with whatever kind of power im going to make, dont i need to break the clutch in a little for 500 miles or whatever or will i be fine with a brand new clutch?

That thought crossed my mind but I broke everything in on teh dyno including my clutch. I would just wait 500 miles before hitting the dragstip on slick maybe but short of that the clutch will be ok.
