Default Help me get my alternator off.

I'm going off of this picture from the helms:

I'm having a problem with this adjusting bolt. I'm not seeing on my alternator where it is.

am i not staring hard enough?

This is the replacement. See the hole on the bottom? Where I'm assuming the adjustment bolt goes through...I'm not seeing it on the one currently on my car.

Also, the mounting bolt seems to be a pain in the *** to get to as well. Is moving the power steering pump out of the way a good idea? If so, how do I get that off. I'm seeing a bunch of bolts and I dont want to take off anything I dont need to.

okay so i'm dumb. i figured out the adjusting bolt...but still have a couple problems.

i cant get the adjustment bolt all the way off because there's no room for the ratchet to fit.

that locknut and mounting bolt are really in a PITA spot.

You don't need to remove the adjusting bolt. Just remove the other bolt next to it to remove the entire bracket.

Removing the power steering pump and all the belts would help free up some room. Also pull out the PS reservoir and remove the cruise control thing and put it aside as well.

Its pretty simple man, there is that 12mm bolt underneath that you loosen and take out, then the 14mm bolt on top, loosen and take that out, then it should come right off. Pull the top out first then the bottom will come up.

get a shorter socket if your ratchet doesn't fit, or use a wrench or something.

the adjusting bolt is 12mm and the top bolt is 14mm

I should have said the nut on the adjusting bolt, because the bolt itself is just squared off and sits in that curved slot to adjust with, the nut comes off the back then the bolt pops out the other side.

The top bolt is 14mm and just loosens and comes out toward the driver side.

wow, if you're having problems with that, then doing a clutch job would be impossible for your.
Gear wrenches are your friends when doing that type of ****
everything else is self explanatory

did you get it off yet?

you dont have to remove the bolt completely, just enough to slip the belt off.

take your time and relax man. some times it saves time to take other things off that take time to take off. but in long run taking time to take those things off save you HUGE amounts of time with other things. Remove ps pump by releasing tension on tensioner bolt. Take 12 mm, loosen lock bolt. Take 10mm, open tension bolt on Power steering pump. Take 12 mm, and remove 3 mounting bolts (two on left side, and one on right side right under ps pulley. Pull belt off now because pump should fall downwards, than pull ps pump off (You don't need to pull ps pump hoses off, just move unit out of your way with hoses attached). With those out of the way you should have lots of room to work on alternator
