You have the wrong reverse gear in the transmission.. The trans needs a spacer under the gear so it will fully engage... What is happining is the gear is only engaging a quarter of the way.. You can buy the correct spacer for the reverse gear from acura.. or build a 1/4 spacer yourself... if you continue to use that gear... The other gear is a little taller, but I have found that they also need to be shimmed as well.

The gear set from liberty includes, the main shaft, counter shaft, ring gear, 1-4 gears, and sliders.. The reverse gear is still oem honda

Liberty does not know about the problem. Everything they build is done right. Honda makes two different reverse gears, one of them sets the gear higher and you wont have a problem. The other sets the gear lower and you will have the problem you and I have. Mine is now fixed.

Use a ls or b16 reverse gear, and a gsr brass spacer/washer under it. and put a spacer under the shift rod for 5/reverse fork rod in the hole. And it will not go down like if you had
5th gear you can call me if you want 801-569-1300
paul and cj at liberty and I have talk about the problem jj and I had this problem
3 years ago.
1/2 slider is so wide the reverse gear is small

So is the gsr reverse gear is the wrong one? I used a gsr gear and spacer in my trans and havent got the car running yet, is ther anyway of telling if it is right or not without the car running?
