Default Installing EK4 ARC intake into EM1

I figured it would be a near direct bolt-in, obviously not.

Could anyone provide some pointers/tips on making this specifc intake fit into an EM1? I've seen some pictures of a couple EM1's with an ARC intake, but don't recall which box each of them were specifically.

Any pictures of EM1's with the ARC would be great.

Very odd, they are both EK chassis (obvisouly the EK4 is a hatch, EM is coupe) with B16's. What aspect of it is hampering or stopping you from getting it to fit?

I'll provide pictures later tonight.

Basically, the supplied brackets have no where to mount to in the engine bay.

- 3 brackets which are distinguished as A, B, C
- Instructions provide an illustration of where the brackets attach to the box, but don't have any illustrations of were they should attach in the engine bay.

Hmm, odd. Well, does the intake itself actually sit ok in the engine bay? If the mounting brackets dont seem to work, have you considered a DIY? Sounds like of the brackets arent working, you may need to do a small amount of custom work to secure the intake correctly.

Yes, I have considered fabbing up my own brackets. Although, I was just looking for some input from others who have already been this route and possibly help with the reducing the frustration

The box will fit fine given the fact that the brackets are the ones I need

i can see 3 of the brackets there. If those dont seem to be lining up, your probably going to have to get creative, and find some other spots to mount them in such a way that it secures the box down. My first instinct would be to use the existing bracket locations and their brackets on the box, and wherever they lined up in the bay area, i would make my own mounting spots by drilling holes and using bolts to mount it securly. That is if you mean to say they arent lining up as it is.

Thanks for the pictures, I appreciate it.

The brackets shown for the EG box as you posted are very different than the ones I have.

Please see the pictures below.

Brackets A, B, C

Illustration in the Instructions

A couple pictures of the box (sorry for the terrible angles)

Bracket A fits as it should. Brackets B and C are a different story. Bracket B fits as it should in an EG and iono what bracket C should go at all...

mine is an ek box. i modded it to fit the eg. the eg is smaller, with a single filter. yours looks just like the eg box. why do you think it is for an ek? i think single filter boxes are useless, imho. below is a pic of an ek box in an ek/em1.

you can see in the pic that the top bracket is the one that i cut in half. also, dual filter works much better, but, again not as well as a typical cai. i ran a ram air tube to the bottom filter to try and remedy this, but not much changed.

here are part numbers with descriptions:

IDBEG603
US $ 263.96
Honda Civic EG6 B16A Filter Size A X 1
IDBEK403
US $ 285.48
Honda Civic EK4 B16A Filter Size A X 2
IDBEK903
US $ 285.48
Honda Civic EK9 B16B Filter Size A X 2

you have one filter, both the ek4 and ek9 call for 2 filters. me thinks you got the wrong box.

your brackets do not match the arc picture.

nor does yours look like mine, like in the bottom of this flash file

Mine is for an EK4. It has the smaller filter on the bottom.
