i need help on ideas or tricks to make it pass...my brother is doing the e test so i can do whatever i want to the car to make it pass...even if its illegal lol iv tried disconnecting vaccums to make it run leaner cause its running rich, it passes idle but wont pass 40km, the hydrocarbons are high!!! iv also tried gapping my plugs to the max, and retarding the timing to the max and still no pass, but got much better....i got my fuel ingectors cleaned...still not a pass, i am runnig out of ideas!!
any help would be great!!

by the way its 88 civic hach that used to have a race chip in it but was pulled out back to the original ecu...perhaps having the chip in the car by the previous owner messed to car up?!? who knows

 

if you are running that rich your cat is probably not working that well. buy a new one

just get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and turn the pressure down...its what i did to pass after five trys

 

o2 is good...my brother says my cat is good but we havent replaced it...i dont want to spend 150 dollars and have it not pass again....

well the rule of thumb is to always get a new cat for smog....why most people put them on to smog and take them right off so they dont get ruined in any way...if you put it on with a new o2 from like autozone you will see a big diff....just warm up the cat good before testing....
