how much parasitic drag does the alternator produce?
I'm looking for some info about what kind of burden the alternator puts on the motor when the car is first started and the battery is being recharged, vs after it is recharged and the car is in normal use with its accessories.
I've been told by some that the mileage hit is close to 10% while recharging the battery... just doesnt seem realistic to me. Anyone know?
