Default New to the forum and I have some questions on Tein springs.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have a 98 Civic HX and I want to put some lowering springs on it (I already have KYB AGX dampers). I came across some Tein s.tech springs and I'm not sure if they're real or not. I know that these springs have been counterfeited a lot lately, and I've been to the Tein website to find out more. These springs don't have the Tein name on it anywhere but they do have part numbers (or something that looks like part numbers) on them. The numbers are F-P1A00 and R-P1A01. I found a post from 2005 on another forum that lists these numbers so I wonder if the old Teins were unmarked and have these numbers on them.

Here's the link to the other post.

Any help would be appreciated. [IMG][/IMG]

I'm probably going to stay away from the Teins b/c of the uncertainty of them being real of not. So at this point, I'm still looking for a set of springs. I'll look into Eibach Sportlines or Progress lowering springs. I don't want to drop too much $ into the springs but I still want something decent.

Also real tein's have tein made into the green coating.

The fakes have stickers on them that can be easily removed.

Yup Yup... Just look for something else man. I was looking for springs not too long ago and I wanted something used and cheap... Just be patient I guess. I ended up getting some barely used H&R sport Sport Springs (I think... they're the black ones) for only $70 shipped so yeah... They came like-new... Just wait! and be patient i guess.

i got my s-techs off of ebay and i'm very satisfied. the ride is really smooth, plus the drop is just right at about 2" all around.

Civic2000EX, did your Teins check out as being real? If so, can you send me the link of where you bought it from? I'd like to check them out.

i couldn't tell for sure if they're real or not, because i did get them for a lot cheaper than what s-techs normally sell for. but like a lot of other people have said, when it comes to ebay sometimes you never know. i guess i was one of the lucky ones that got good quality lowering springs. sorry, but i can't remember the name of the seller that i bought them from.
but you can get quality stuff off of ebay but if you really want to be sure that you get good stuff, you may want to look on other sites. and of course you'd have to be willing to spend a little more money.
and there are other good lowering springs as well, like h&r and eibach.
