Draining block on 92 Accord (2.2)
I'm trying to remove the engine (2.2) block drain plug, ...that is just above and to the left of the oil filter. This is with the CV shafts and exhaust pipe in place, without much room. No luck with a 1/2 breaker bar. Appears the plug has never been removed. Can this be done without removing the shafts and support? If so, I could use pointers. Thanks
Yeah its in there really good! Just an extension, breaker bar like you mentioned, and a long cheater bar. You might try giving it a few good whacks with a hammer to break all the rust and residue loose. When I did mine I dented the oil filter too...just an FYI. But to answer your question, no you shouldn't have to take anything else out.
You might try applying heat to it, but lets get a second opinion on that first. The plug is steel I believe and I wouldn't want you to crack the block or anything!!!
