oil royal purple constant use or honda oil
see i've used honda motor oil for about year half but heard well royal purple protects and adds horse power. But afraid that since that oil has diffrent chemicals in long run just ruin my engine do you guys think i should run it once? to help with blok resoration or get acura oil which could help as well thanks.
There is no oil on the market that can give an engine extra horsepower. Some will protect better and have less friction giving better fuel mileage, but horsepower?... sorry man. The chemicals in oil are designed to help your motor not hurt it also. Save money and use Amsoil instead of RP

half true. no oil "gives" horsepower, but they do decrease friction, reduced frition equals more power that reaches the wheels
and royal purple is good stuff, you cant go wrong with it, so dont worry. but your going to be paying alot more and be getting little in return. if you dont race and your engine is stock i personally wouldnt shell out the extra cash for royal purple. but thats just me.

It sounded like to me like part of the users question was about switching from conventional oil to synthetic. If thats the Q it wont hurt to switch from conventional to synth as long as you don't keep going back and forth. (that would probably be bad for seals)

actually it was proven that with the right flushes and royal purple oils, a random number of hp (8.423) or somethin like that can be added. but then again, not everyone knows that method that was used.
anyways...i use royal purple because i got a flush and dropped my old pan, i see i difference though..smoother shifts upward and downward..but i'm kickin it $6.48 / qt. everytime.

what does engine oil have to do with the way your car shift through gears?

i seen the video on tv once it was on a 8 cylinder mustang and it wasnt just the oil they did the differential, engine, radiator, and clutch to yield the 8 hp. so unless your going the whole nine yards which is very expensive and maybe get 3 hp out of it if that, still stick with honda fluids.

if you have the money to shed out then royal is good but OEM is just fine. i dynoed my car before and after using it on my integra...no gain in hp.

it's by no means cheap, but it is expensive..but it's not THAT expensive. this is a pic from when i was leaking oil in little spots for 2 months. i think i spent $84 in oil those 2 months. i just look at it the same way people who use pump gas see people usin racing gas and say man that's expensive i'll stick to Reg. Unleaded.
But i like the engine response so i kick out for it.
