Default Type R Shift Rod

Okay just curious if i put a type R Rod in my 2000 civic si if it will work as a short shifter..i have heard the throws are heights are a lot shorter in a type r then in a civic. Is this true?

it will be shorter and since its a dual bend (i believe) it will sit closer to you. I would really invest in a dual bend SS. Either from skunk2, b&m, even blox. i have a factory bend b&m on my EJ8 and man reaching for the shifter sucks *****.

well i have long arms so a short reach shifter would be uncomfortable..im trying to decide whether to go factory Type R or a B&M...which one would have a better shift reduction?

I think your money would be better spent on a sk2 ****/shifter combo.

It's probably the best shifter combo made for civics that's in a decent price range. I've driven/owned quite a few different *****, I had a B&M single bend in my first car, then an ebay dual bend, then in my first car I had an ebay single.

Now I have a skunk2 dual bend and it's lightyears beyond the previous in terms of shift feel.

Shunk2 > all I've owned/driven.
