I'm having a problem. when i turn my car over it starts, but when i let the key go and it re-coils back to the on position, the car stalls. If i hold the key forward when it starts the car stays running and the starter doesn't grind either. And i can even put it in gear and take off. As soon as i let the key go, it shuts off. The first night this happened i left the car home and took my brothers car to work. In the morning when i got home the car started up and stood running. It just happened to me a little while ago at the store, i kept turning it over and over, i held the key and drove a little, let it go and it stalled again. Kept turning it over and finally stood running. The car is standard if that helps.

 

maybe your ignition is bad. try slapping a new one in. they are easy to do.

 

if i do that will i have a different key? how pricey is that?

yeah you will have a new key. i think they run about $20 bucks

 

Not true. Honda can install and key a new ignition lock using your VIN
