Alignment Experts: PLEASE HELP
i just did my rear disc conversion on my 98 civic hatchaback, so clearly i needed an alignment after the new trailing arms were installed. i do not have camber/caster adjustment, so it was only toe in/out that was going to be adjusted.
the guy at the shop did the fronts, then did the rear driver and everything was fine, but when he was doing the rear passenger side, he told me that he couldnt get it to go into the "green zone". what the hell does that mean? he asked me if i have ever been in an accident, which i have not. so i asked him if hes not going to do the alignment, and he said he is, but he just cant get it into the green, but didnt explain to me what that mean.
then...after he was done, i looked at the toe arm positions and both pass. and driver bolts were on the left sides of the adjustment hole in the chassis. im not sure if thats normal...i mean, common sense tells e that they should be in oppopite symetry. like if one side is on the left side of the hole, the other side should be on the right side of the hole.
does anyone know what either of these issues could be of if they are normal? because the dude at the shop was jamaican and couldnt really speak english too well, so i dunno what im supposed to do, but it bothers me.
the arms look like this installed right now.
also, after the alignment, i noticed a hovering noise from my rear at hign speeds on the highway. i dont know what to do, please help.

what trailing arms did you use?
what rear toe arms did you use?
"getting in the green" just means he couldnt get it in spec.
its quite possible the trailing arms are damaged and one side is bent as well.
the noise you hear is probably a bad wheel bearing that needs replacement.

im usind DA integra trailing arms. and all control arms are off my Ek civic.
not sure if anything is bent, everything looked in real crisp condition.
do you think it would be helpful to get adjustable toe arms and camber arms to get everything perfect?

Did you have any abnormal tire wear, prior to installing the trailing arms?
The way the rear is set up in your pic, would indicate that there is something obviously wrong. thats some serious correction to the right, and still not getting within spec??? Take the car to a "reputable" front end shop, have them do an alignment, and explain it so you understand...

well the alignment shop i took it to looked pretty damn serious. they had lasers or something, lol... jut the guy that did the job didnt really speak english. anyways, it wouldnt make sence doing another alignment because this guy did all he could do, i just need someone too look at it and tell me what they think, the nose might be the tires also, i think they did have irregular wear due to not being aligned. but the bolts..i dunno.
Post the alignment sheet... if you don't have one go back and have them print it out for you. Green means in spec, red is out of spec.
If everything checks out fine and you still want to get into spec you can get some aftermarket toe adjusters (SPC is one brand), you'll get more range since the arm itself is adjustable as well as the slot in the body.

they cant print one out again. its not saved to the computer.
depends how good the alignment rack is sometimes when your messing with the car trying to get the bolts loose the car will shift on the plates and mess up the readings.
happen to me before when i did alignments. but our alignment rack is ghetto.

nahh, my bolts were fresh cuz i just did a trailing arm swap, so they were easy to remove. and their alignment equippment was real nice.
