Default Rear Disc Conversion on the EK, Incorrect E Brake Cable

I brought a Rear Disc Conversion off a local guy who said that the Si E-Brake Cable is mounted however once I'm completed with the swap I found the cable to be a few inches short? I'm thinking they are Integra Cables because he said they were off a GSR. Is there a way to make it fit? How hard is it to swap on a new set of Ebrake Cables? Can this be done without taking off the rear trailing arms?

If you are trying to convert rear disc brakes on your EK then you are going to need either 92-2000 civic ex e-brake cables or 92-2000 integra e-brake cables as long as this e-brake cable is off of a rear disc brake car then you should be good, I know that non disc brake cables will not fit and they will be short and any del sol e-brake cables will not fit. There is noo way you can make these fit if they are for the wrong application, and yes you can feed the e-brake cable through the rear trailing arm and you do not have to take it off. Make sure you have the right e-brake cable bracket too, cause that can be a pain too if it doesn't fit.... I hope that helps

You need 99-00 si e-brake cables. End of story.

I actually just got finished putting rear disc brakes on my del sol s and I ran into the same problem, I put front and rear disc brakes from a 98 integra and found out that the civic and integra e-brake cables did not fit but they were actually the same length and bolted up the same. The del sol si or vtec e-brake cables are the only cables i found to fit my car but I could be wrong....

That's correct for a del sol, but with any 96-00 civic he'll need si ebrake cables for a rear disk/drum swap.

to echo others, you will need a 99/00 si rear cable. integras have a 2" shorter wheelbase, so their cables are 2" shorter as well.

well it went out and ordered the si cables.. can the cable be installed without pulling apart everything? (can the cables be install with the trailing arms still on the vehicle?)

thanks,

recommended use the si cables but i have this brake set up and used the integ cables. fit tight but fit. just untighten the bolt that adjusts the cable tension.

I used the GSR cables that came with my rear swap in my 99 hatch. Used the gromets off the civic cables and loosened the adjustment screw under the arm rest and had no issues.

You can use Integra cables, but it's a tight fit and you won't be able to use all of the hangers on the Integra cables. At least, that's what I had to do on my first EK hatch. I don't recommend using any cables other than the 99-00 Si ones. I used them on my 5 lug conversion on my 99 hatch and was able to use all of the hangers and it all went together like stock. I'm about to do a rear disc conversion on my other EK hatch and will not use anything other than the right cables again. The $80.00 for the cables is well worth it, or you can hold out for complete 99-00 rear assemblies like I am.

does it matter if all the hangers are not in. I was not able to put in the one that is covered by the big plastic in the middle of the car.
