Compression Question.
Hey-
I have a lame d15b1 in my hatch. It is my DD and I am only looking to add a little more pep to it. I am in the process of converting to MPFI. This should get me up around 90-ish HP if I go I/H/E and SI cam right? Anything is better than the 70.
Okay, now to the compression. The motor has 170,000 on it, but still runs like a top. I'm not planning on changing anything internally except the cam. I'm just curious on how much life this motor may have left.
How do you exactly calculate the compression ratio? I know I need a compression gauge, and I know how to do it. What do I do with the number I get from each cylinder?
I really don't even need a ratio per say. If someone could just tell me what I should expect, from each cylinder on this motor with that many miles, then that would work too.
Sorry for getting off topic a bit, but thanks in advance for any and all replies.
