b16 tranny w/ spoon motor or type r or gsr...
is this a good combination for drag racing?? cause im planing on buying a long block and i got a b16 tranny already so help me on what a good swap...thnx
If I was going all out for the drag strip, (which I wouldn't because I hate racing in a straight line) I would get the highest displacement motor I could find. A type-r motor is fine, it's tuned for n/a go-ness.
If you we're serious, a b16 would be your last choice for a drag monster. An ls turbo has much more potential with boost than a 1.6L b16.
If you wanted to break records, you could do an f20b or an h22, or a SOHC F series.

b16 w/ boost > ls w/ boost, the LS head just doesn't flow enough. an LS vtec on the other hand changes things. i would do an lsvtec or gsr motor plus boost. and stick with that b16 tranny, just make sure you have enough tire/ revs to hit the traps in 4th.
