B16 transmissions are generally too short for revving to only 7k. GSRs are generally a far better match. If you rev 8k or above, the B16 transmission becomes a better match.

You can overcome short B16 FD with taller tires. I have a friend with LS gearing in full chassis Integra, very peaky high rpm setup that has to be kept 6500-9500 to make best power and not fall on it's face between shifts, running 22" street tires and/or slicks on the street. Boost cranked all the way up helped most of all, but regular sized tires were a lot longer geared.
GSR is best bet, yeah, but sometimes it's easier to ghetto engineer when there are no repercussions than to go on the eternal parts hunt.

Re: (96BLkGSR)
that might just be my plan. but i might just get the b16 motor and tranny. get it boosted for awhile and after its been boosted. take the high milage ls block and have it built with forged internals and then slap that on there for ls/vtec-t. but i still need more votes on my poll to help me decide.

Well, I would have removed it because it was stupid, but I bet if you checked the rules stickied at the top of the forum there's probably a much nicer reason listed.
