Default Temperature Gauge question for Honda Accord 2007

Just bought a Honda Accord 2007. I was looking at the honda website for accessories and noticed you can put an outside temperature gauge function by the odometer in the speed gauge window.

Im wondering whether this is something simple which can be programmed into... or do they really have to install some kind of temperature sensor on the car (I would think there might be a outside temperature sensor already).

In any case, if there isn't, maybe there is a way to hook up an aftermarket sensor and get it to work... any suggestions anyone?

what trim 07 did you by (ex-l, ex, lx-l, lx). I have a 07 ex-l and if you press the odometer 3 or 4 times it will give you the outside temp. it was already built into mine.

Some Accords already have the feature. But, if it doesn't you can add this accessory. Here is the installation instruction:

I have a 2006 Honda Accord LX which doesn't have the "outside temp" and "Oil life" features and I would like to add them.
Can you please help?
Thanks

All trim levels of '06 Accords in the US already have the maintenance minder. (oil life%) Are you in another country? If not, you don't have a 2006 or you just haven't found the maint. minder yet.

Outside temperature gauge is standard on the EX and EXL. For the other model, it could be added but you have to get a kit from Honda. If you don't have one, I don't think it is worthed it to spend the money and the labor. You have to be fairly good mechanically and electrically inclined person to do it. That is one thing I don't like about Honda, their accessory addon usually requires a trip to the dealer for most people. I like Nissan much better because most of the wiring are there already, unlike Honda. BTW, you are in the wrong forum.
