Default Thanks But Still Need Help. D16A6 to D16Z Mini Me Swap Automatic

Thanks for everyone who responded to my post. However now I am as confused as ever. After all the reading and options that were provided I figured I'd try to be a little more specific. Here goes:

I have a D16A6, and automatic tranny. I want to do a Mini-Me...What do I need EXACTLY,....all parts, wiring, etc? I am asking that someone who has done this swap or knows how to do this swap with their eyes closed to respond. Also, I'm not looking to do this on the cheap...I want to do it properly. Thanks.

90ed6 - thanks, pretty simple and straight forward. By dizzy I'm assuming you mean distributor, correct? And when I convent to OBD 1 I assume you mean find a p28, is that correct? I have read that I would need to find a p28 automatic, is that correct or does it not matter? And can you clarify what you mean by wire vtec?

I do have everything with the exception of the ecu.

I thank you in advance for all your help.

you do not need an auto tranny ecu!

the only thing that is controlled by the ecu in an l4 trans (88-91 auto) is the lock up torque converter, you can easily turn this on yourself with a switch or setup an rpm activated switch, heck if you give the solenoid constant power it will not turn on until 4th gear at 300 rpms anyway.

ps dont know why you choose to go auto but dont let people scare you away from it by saying it will be slow, my sohc auto runs mid 13s 1/4 on a 50 shot

Well, I have only had one automatic before so I wanna see what can be done with it. I have a 92 prelude 4ws 5 speed that keeps me pretty busy, but ive always wanted to try a civic. Plus I got 2 kids and a new nephew, so an automatic would be nice especially if I have all those kids.

So a D16A6 auto tranny should bolt up to the D16Z right? I think I might just do the whole engine swap. I got the D16Z for $300 cdn install included. Body will be finished in a few days, old rims from the prelude are being powdercoated, coilover and exhaust system I havent decided on yet. What is the best coilover system and exhaust system for an EF?
