Default JVC 12CD Changer CH-X1500RF wiring

I have a problem with install this CD changer. It comes with 1 CD changer <--> FM modulator. FM modulator comes out with 3 wires: black (ground), red (power)(with 3A fuse on-wire), and yellow (memory backup power)(with 3A fuse on-wire). I tried to connect to wiring harness first (already have black, red, yelllow). No power comes up from main unit. Then I tried to connect the red to left side fuse panel using a add-to-circuit fuse (with a red wire come out), and black to chassis, yellow (just leave there, don't know where it should go???). No power comes up either. I believe this refurbished unit is defective. Any idea to test if this unit works or not and how to wire correctly?
Thank you so much!!!

The red, yellow & black wires in the harness going to your radio (providing it's an aftermarket unit and not stock) should be adequate to power the changer...

If you connected those wires and you got no power, I would first check the fuse(s) on the power wires for the changer. (And by check, I mean verify for continuity with a meter, not just looking at them.) If the fuses test OK, then there may be a problem with the changer.

Year/Make/Model of vehicle please?

If it didn't matter, would I have wasted my time typing it??

Test it with a meter....
