Default Mat vs. paint? (RAAMMAT, QuietCar, Dynamat, B-Quiet, Second Skin Audio)

I'd like to know anyone that installed either the mat or use the paint (or combo) and what the road noise reduction was like.

I'm debating whether I should go with the mat (most likley RAAMMAT) or go with paint like the one made by QuietCar.

I'm not looking to go all out for audio but just want to eliminate most of the road noise.

I was thinking go with thick paint & mat on the floor & door panels and vertical areas with two layers of mats.

Any suggestions?

For the floor the most important thing to eliminate road noise will be a thick insulation material like this:

or this:

I did paint on AND mat in my 94' Civic and found the reduction was greatest when I added the HeatWave on top of them on the floor.

I had a 2002 BMW 325i with almost no road noise and it was done with a similar material -- a very thick foam padding under the carpet alot like the Second Skin Overkill stuff.

For the rest of the car a mat works quite well to further reduce noise.

I guess we're going to see this topic repeated every week or so.

i like dynamat but you seem to need alot of it in order for it to reduce the road sound
