mini me no vtec(yes i searched)
Well i installed my z6 head on my a6 block and before i put it together i pulled thoil control jet. I put it together and it fired first turn of the key but it doesnt have vtec. I cleaned the screens on the solenoid and check to make sure the rpm switch is sending 12v and it is, I also checked the resistace and found the solenoid was bad so i took the one off my integra which looked the same and had the same part # and it checks out on the meter but still no vtec. could the pressure switch be stuck open?? I even hooked a switch up to 12v and to a toggle and the to the solenoid and took it for a ride and still nothing. Any help would be great. I tried everything i could think of and looked through all the other mini me posts but my problem isnt really the same as anyone elses. I have the stock ecu with a rpm switch and raise the fuel pressure with a adjustable fpr.
you know... you are not supposed to feel vtec. it's supposed to be a smooth transition. even the b-series are supposed to be that way. b series you will hear the pitch change of the exhaust.
did you replace the pressure switch? could be broken. are you sure you hooked the wiring correct?
USING and actually vtec ecu would help you a lot more than going the route of a rpm switch.
