Default newbie question: how to lower car...

what exactly would I need? not looking for specific brands or anything..

more like specific parts (lowering springs, shocks?) I've been trying to figure it out but I'm having trouble understanding what exactly needs to be done just to lower the car.

do i need a full suspension kit? or just springs..?

Dude, you should really have searched before you went and asked this.

Don't cut the springs...although I have done that once...temporarily (so aluminum heads are much lighter than the iron ones...who thought of that?)

If you search for a kit for the car, you'll see what you need.

Kits:
2 shocks
2 struts
2 springs

Get a camber kit front/rear too.

ok in reality if your lowering your car like an inch buy some tein s-techs, run them on stock shocks and your golden...a good lowering spring is all you are going to need. for better handling characteristics your goin to want a new strut/shock combo...this is also necessary when lowering the car more than 2 inches as our stock shocks can not handle the rebound of being that low.

my second piece of advice is learn to use the search function on Honda-Tech. I realize you are a new member, but do not just create a post for every question u have, search thoroughly, cross reference, than search again, than search the archives and if u still have trouble finding something, than post the question. It will save alot of hating/flaming from the Hater-Tech community on here. And they have every reason to say what they say, its annoying to see our bandwidth clogged up with noobish questions such as this one, or "what wire do i hook up for my Vtak to work".

But anyways, welcome to Honda-Tech, youll find its a great site for learning and inspiration.

I bought my previous car, used. The idiot who had it before me cut the springs... Which I knew it, but I was already plannin on the suspension needs for it. So I rocked it for a while... Until one day, I took a corner to fast and the spring ejected itself from off the arm and wedged itself into my tire.... - Moral of the story. Cut the springs... It'll be funny, I promise.
