Just finished a trip to Myrtle Beach for senior week and round trip it was about 2000 miles. I used about 7/8 of a quart of oil and i did have several very short trips and other frantic dashes to get people to the air port but other than that the rest was the strait shot trip. Is my oil consumption normal and should I just keep topping it off until I change it.

Had the car since 79,500 when I started using 5w-30 Mobil1 Synthetic, now I'm at 109,000, still rocking full synthetic 5w-30, changing anywhere from 3000-5000 miles.

 

Sounds about right for a 98, the only other thing to check easy is the PCV valve.

 

ok cool, thanks, PCV valves are a couple bucks and right on the valve cover anyway aren't they? cheap easy fix?
