Default alarm transmitter can't find antenna

well just lately my car alarm has been acting up. i have the clifford matrix 2.5x and it seems that when i push the lock/unlock button it beeps as though it can't find the antenna in the car. is there a way to reprogram the remote? they say push the valet button, but im not sure if it works or not. or a way to find out if its the antenna in the car, because the remote is fine. i jus dont know how to reprogram the remote. it like slowly stopped working.

like a couple of times i had to push the button kinda hard for it to lock/unlock it and now it stopped all together.. please help!

i push the lock/unlock on the remote and it jus gives me a couple of beeps as if it is out of range.

that helps out quite abit, now lets see if i can trouble shoot it using that.

im jus trying to figure out why it won't lock and unlock.

like when i push the botton on the remote, the screen shows rx and the antenna picture then shows the tx and the antenna picture (or the other way around with the tx and the rx) then bout 2 seconds later it jus shows the antenna picture and beeps like 3 double beeps. like *dede dede dede* haha sorry but thats what it "sounds" like. i wish someone was near by that would help, cause im not gonna pay for this stupid little troubleshooting process for someone to say oh it was the antenna. thats why im asking honda-tech to see if anyone else had the same problem

That is strange, when you press a button on the remote and send a signal the TX/with ant. icon will show and when a signal is received by the remote the RX/with ant. will show, indicating that the main unit has received the signal from the remote, but the lock, [or unlock] icon should also show, the ant. by itself indicates that the signal was not received by the main unit.

Try this, disconnect the neg. batt. lead, wait a few min. then reconnect, then reprogram the remote and see what happens.

Also here is the owners guide... http://www.directeddealers.com...4.pdf 94

like it shows the lock/unlock icon, but its on unlock all the time because it "can't transmit" i guess.

i dont knwo what to do, and its pissing me off. do you know how to reprogram the remote exactly? i read the manual and i dont get it. i need simpler terms hahahaha.

OK....
1- open door
2- turn ign. on
3- press valet button 7 times, [standard configuration].
4- press and hold valet button, siren will chirp 7 times and LED will be blinking
5- press the lock button on the remotes, siren will chirp, [when remote button is pressed] if programing is working. 94

Okay, Does it lock and unlock the doors on the car? There is a way to program the controller not to respond back from the car. The the remote will lock and unlock the car. Make sure the antena is pluged in. It could of became loose

No. But you can buy a direct replacement and program it.

That's why I haven't recommended that you try that.

As a last resort you could first buy the non-paging remote or temporarily program someone else's to your alarm.

ummm...have you tried replacing the battery in the remote...usually if you gradually start to run out of range it's the transmitter battery.

unplug your antenna, wait a few minutes and plug it back in. if your remote doesnt work then, try to reprogram it with the steps fcm gave you. if it fails then, its time to start replacing stuff.

you know, i didnt ever think it was the battery because it had i believe 2 more bars left on the remote, so i didnt think anything of it, but i'll get a brand new pack and brand new battery and try it, because i left the batterys in my car incase one dies and i bet they got too hot a couple of days and probably ruined them. i'll try that, i guess, but i NEVER thought it was the remote battery once because i thought i was good to go with 2 bars left.

i'll try that...you mean the one going to hte brain right? the antenna to the car? i tried pushing the vallet 7 times then one more time and holding it, and it jus made my alarm go off. do i actually start the car? or jus turn the key to acc and its good enough?

you can just unplug it at the antenna you dont have to pull the brain out. also you need to turn your key til the ignition is on. but dont crank it. if you have the ign on and all it does is give you a short siren sound then your unit is locked and you will need a bitwriter to unlock it. keep us posted.

If reprogramming the remote doesn't work, I can almost garuntee you its the antenna. I can't count how many of those I have had to replace. If you had it installed professionaly, take it back. These units have a lifetime warranty if installed by a pro.
