--------Idle help ( pics )--------

I have been having an irratic idle, along with a high constant idle. also when i press the clutch in to stop the car will die randomly.. SO here is what i did
CLeaned Throttle body, IACV,
Replaced throttle body gasket
checked Throttle plate position and adjusted
Checked for leaks.
Here is what i came up with. There is a vaccum port on the rear of the intake mani close to the brake master cylinder. it was T'd off one going to the little valve above it and another to the charcole canister. well when i pinched it the idle went down to 650 and stopped going up and down. So i think i have found my idle problem. I unplugged the T and just ran that vaccum port strait to the little valve above it like its supposed to be. And the vaccum hose from the canister i blocked off with a bolt. i got into the car and started it up rev'd it a bit and the idle was perfect. and no CEL's..
The hose i blocked off from the canister is supposed to go the the Larger vaccum port on the Throttle body But i bought the engine and it had a b18b throttle body on it with no port. so thats why it was T'd off at the rear lower port.
so my questions are: Do i need that charcole canister? anyway to bypass that system? or should i replace it somehow? I really don't mind that its there but its messing up my idle. any help would be cool thanks
here is a pix of the canister and the hose that was giving me problems. that i had to block off. i hope my thread makes sence.
