16V EDM CRX spoiler install
I've tried searching for some installs regarding this spoiler..but no luck, so i thought i'd try here.
I'm about to drill the holes into my hatch to mount up my EDM spoiler...but i would like to know...There are two different studs that are on each mounting plate, a plastic one and a metal screw. Do i drill two holes per plate? (so that would be a total of 8 small holes total). I know this seems like a newbish question...but i want to make sure before i start drilling away.
Any help is appriciated.

just wondering..
are the holes really necessary? cause its gonna b mounted on such a flat platform, will double sided tape + some sillicon glue b enuf? also since the rear wiper will b sort of holding it in place as well.
has anyone done it without screws?

I've heard a lot of people using double sided tape for this spoiler install, and it seems to work ok...but i just feel more secure about having it mounted properly. Plus if you ever go to sell the spoiler it will still be reusable if the next person wants to install it properly
Its all a personal preference

Dang Sean, you should have come to me with this question homie! You know I just installed that wing on my CRX a few weeks ago! haha
But yeah. . .if you haven't already installed yours. . .
I drilled for all 8 holes as well. I put masking tape down on the hatch. Then I dabbed some paint on the 4 plastic studs/clips on the wing. Carefully put the wing down in position and the paint will leave 4 marks on the masking tape. Drill those holes.
Then dab a little paint on the 4 threaded studs and do the same. You have to do it in 2 stages like that because the plastic studs/clips are longer than the threaded metal ones.
After the holes are drilled, it's a sinch. Remove the tape, put the wing on and put the nuts on from underneath.
As for the double sided tape idea. . .you can try it, but I certainly wouldn't. If you notice, the hatch and wing aren't flat. They have an arc to them. I don't know if it was just my wing, or all of them, but I could see the ends snug down when the nuts get tightened. That tells me that they arc on the hatch and on the wing don't match exactly. I sure wouldn't trust tape to hold that down. lol

Oh yeah. . .and as far as water leakage. . .it should be fine as long as you put a little silicone around the holes. I meant to do that on mine, but I was excited to get the damn thing installed and I forgot. lol. I'll be pulling it off to add that soon.
Both holes do NOT need to be drilled, that is a waste of time, no tape is necessary either, I removed the plastic tabs and have had the wing on my car for almost 3 years, drove it cross country and never had a problem. You will want to check every few months as the nuts that hold the wing on slowly back themselves off a little, besides the wing wont be going anywhere if you have a rear wiper

damn, nihkon did it correctly!!!
i double-sided taped mine. it looks good at first, but over time, the tape weakens.
when the car goes into the body shop for paint, i will have the wing done properly.

there are 2 screws (1 metal screw and 1 platic screw <--weird) per plate attached wth the wing, 4 plates in total.
will drill 4 holes it is, might break the plastic one off (still considering)
thanks for the inputs guys

The one I got a while back had missing plastic screws so I just used the four metal ones and removed the existing plastic ones. I didn't have to drill all eight (ouch) so the four are more then enough once bolted down.
