Profec B spec 2 not controlling boost
I have all the vacuum hoses on the actuator hooked up and the profec is powered. no matter what setting i use its just running off the wastegate spring. This is a new controller I bought from First State around Jan. I tried taking the hose off the main unit and blowing into nipple and could not get the solenoid to click. HELP!
anyone know any other ways to test this thing? I never had a problem like this with my last profec. plus the wires popped out of the harness controlling the valve unit (solenoid) coming off the valve unit is red and black, coming from the profec is green and white. which goes to which?

hmm. well if the wiring is not connected how do you expect the solenoid to function. it is an electronic boost controller so wiring is probably pretty important.

ok well are you sure the EBC is actually on. when the solenoid is off the display still functions and reads boost. make sure the HI or LO is in the top left corner. also double check your vac lines against the greddy instructions. http://www.greddy.com/img/PHP/products/pdf/682.pdf

yes the controller is on and everything. I can change settings and all. I called greddy and they told me to send it back. so I guess we'll see
what are your settings? any you are positive the vac lines are correct? i only stess this because i feel like the profec b gets a back rep as being a crappy controller when really its user error a lot of the time.
out of the 3 profec b 2's i have installed, i have removed all 3 for issues. never found out what was wrong, lost faith in greddy for boost control. we had a few threads a while back on this stuff. check the archives.
Yep, there have been a few threads... I personally have had the solenoid die on my profec within a few months of getting it installed. I replace the greddy solenoid with a perrin solenoid and did not have any more problems after that. The greddy solenoids are extremely overpriced btw.
I have since changed to the type-s and I shall see how think one holds up.
