Default Kens Kustom Cage in a 00 GSR

So I have started the install of my cage and figured I'd post a few fitment pics. The cage is being roughed in for now then I'll clean everything up and finish welding it in. Everything came pre-notched and a little long per my request. In the pics the only cutting that was done was for the main hoop legs. They were about 1.5" too long.

This cage fits super tight. Here are some shots to show the quality of the kit.

Main hoop w/ harness bar and d-bar

Side bar and again how close it is to the body of the car.

Ignore how high the side bar is and how low the harness bar is. It's not set yet. This is just to show how the main hoop fits.

I'll have more over the next week or two.

Are you putting a diagonal bar in the main hoop?

The one that keeps the hoop from turning into a parallelogram when the car rolls? It should run from the bend above the drivers head down to the bottom on the pass. side. Then run the harness bar(2 pcs.), across.

My assumption is that it's a drag cage, but I still don't get why guys don't put in a diagonal bar? Do cars roll differently on a road course than they do on a drag strip?

No diagonal bar and this is a drag cage. I understand what your saying, but the class regulations don't call for it. I was contemplating wether to put one in myself. We'll see I guess.

looks good. I've had mine for the past 6 months. but we're holding off on installing it until the new motor can make the weight additional not as detrimental.

Call the shop. Talk to Ken or Carry. They are both very smart dudes. And they have a 'kit' for a Civic coupe. It will probably be up to you to tell them how you want the chute. They do have chute 'kits' as well.
