To some, perhaps, but, more importantly, they are bigger brakes and they are 4 wheel disc brakes. Simply stated, they out perform the break designs found on the nearly 20yr old EFs.
Whoops, I didn't answer in the form of a question.

It's really, really easy to get 11" rotors and ITR calipers on 4 lug though. Personally I'd only switch to 5 lug if my goal was to have ITR wheels....which is perfectly reasonable, I've just never been able to understand why people love to see the 5th lug on a set of aftermarket wheels on a Civic. But then again it's all personal preference!

i have heard people say that it allows for a wider range of wheel selection???
but yeah the excuse of having bigger brakes is nonesense since there are kits out there that will upgrade 20yr old brake system for the same price or less

Yeah, for brakes on 4x100 you can put 11" redrilled rotors from Fastbrakes along with the ITR calipers and extension brackets just as easily as replacing your stock brakes, and if you want something bigger you can get Willwoods etc just like you could for 5 lug. It does makes sense to do if you want wheels like ITRs, JDM ITRs, S2Ks etc.
I have seen cases where a 5 lug swap with ITR wheels and tires goes for only a few hundred dollars more than the OEM big brake setup for 4 lug though, so in that case it's a sweet deal.

The only thing I dislike about the coversion is the 'postive camber' look on the front wheels. I have also noticed this on the 4x114.3 conversion. Anyone agree?

I especially love this excuse when the person at question is rocking stock ITR or other stock wheels. Also, better wheel selection? I see the excuse for 5 lug conversions on 240's and what not, due to the fact that its hard to find nice wheels in 4x114.3 that will sit flush with the car. hondas, you can get just about any nice flush wheels at 4x100, people just dont know how to buy wheels these days thats all.
5 lug is for pure bling and looks, I don't care what anyone tries to argue.

five lugs is closer to the shape of a circle just like your wheels. 4 lugs are square,i dont really know if it does make a diffirence but i heard from a few that it does. on the other hand having an extra lug, meaning more weight. In the racing world they try to reduce unsprung wieght as much as possible.

From: bitch I live in a fuckin trashcan CT
there are def performance factors one being the more rounded lug patern, larger rotor and caliper size...pshh but really you can put that **** on a 84 hatch and it would be COLD FIARE!!

i'm naturally a dick
and my reasoning is simple, 5 lug conversions on 4 lug civics is for pure bling and m4d pr0pz at the hardparking contests. except for nate, because nate is cool.

So no one else notices the postive camber look?
