Default Intercooler pipe size 2.5" or 2.0-2.5"......?

Ok so i have been hearing different things on intercooler pipe sizes, currently i have 2.5 from turbo to intercooler and 2.5 from the intercooler to the throttle body. But i hear if you do 2.0 in to the intercooler and 2.5 out its better and it keeps the air speed up and results more power, but physics tells me that a smaller pipe diameter would restrict flow. Can some one please give me some educated advice. Thanks

Jarod

Because thats old school thinking - smaller on the hot side and bigger on the cold.
IMHO - Go with 2.5" all around or bigger if you shooting for 500+.

It all depend what set-up HP level you are shooting for, whats good for one isn't good for another. If you give use your setup and your goals you will probally get a better answer to your question.

Ok well i am running a t3/t04e 60 trim, on a v6 motor. I plan to upgrade to a gt37 and eventually am shooting for 600hp on boost. Right now goals are around 400hp. All supporting mods.

You should at least have 2.5 piping. You might want to step up to 3in on the
cold side when you put the big turbo on.
