I dont know what its like in your area, but here in the small towns of upstate NY the salvage yards are usually clueless to what a honda motor is worth, they are simply labled as a run of the mill four cylinder. Picked up a D16Z6 last year with 40 some thousand miles for 300..complete swap.. good luck man

I've seen "low milage" LS long blocks go for $300-400 here in GA.
Get a b16/itr/gsr tranny for $600-1000 and you'll have a nice Daily driving setup.
