Hi guys, Ive got a '99 integra with LOW miles. I notice the door panels look great when your standing in front of them, but as you move to the side, you can see ripples along a horizontal line. They arent door dings either. A dent guy told me they were caused by the seam sealer holding the panel firmly, then the wind etc.. causing the panel to flex, and leaving dimples. Has anyone had this issue. He suggested pulling the interior panel off, cutting the old seam sealer and resealing it.. Id do it if it'd work.. Its not that bad, Im just picky, and if you catch it in the right light it looks not so good! Any thought?
I've heard that the glue, or whatever adhesive that's used, which holds the side impact beams in causes the ripples in the doors. Before I invest a lot of $$$ in paint/body work, I'm going to cut mine out. It'll save tons of weight in the process. As far as safety, it's caged so that's not a concern when removing them.
Maybe someone has more info...

honda seam sealers are fairly flexible, so I doubt that ripple were cause by the seam sealer, most likely someone leaned on the doors or some paintless dent repair were perfomed and that caused the sheet metal to deform, I've done countless repairs on doors and most of the time I end up cutting the seam sealer away to allow the door skin take it's original shape and run a bead of new seam sealer to avoid rattles and vibration of the skin against the crash bar,
I say go for it and cut it

Hi, I got bored and pulled the door panel off tonight. I cut all the sealer out, and resealed it. It seamed to really help. I also used one of those paintless dent repair kits, the kind with the hot glue gun and the tripod gizmo, overall Im really happy.
