erg valve help!
i took my accord to see what the check engine light was on for and they told me, insuficiant flow at the erg valve. so can any one tell me where to look for it at? because i have been told that they can just get dirty and they can be cleaned so i would like to try that befor i go to a mechanic.
Yes, they do get dirty and can be cleaned. It is a popular way to increase fuel economy. You clean out all the gunk in the EGR. Do a search. I have seen a write up for cleaning the EGR before.
Ummmm as profroopchan said, the EGR. It could be 1 of 2 things. EGR ports are clogged up or the EGR valve itself is broken. And needs replacing.
EGR port cleaning is in the Accord FAQ. I did get more power from cleaning it(little). Anyways good luck, remember to tighten the bolt tightly. Someone in this forum didn't tighten it all the way and got CEL.

yes... theres a DIY to clean the egr ports [ive done it, its simple] and try cleaning the egr valve first before replacing it, if it still trips the code, then its time for a new valve. Make sure u get a new gasket every time u take it off...
