Default Post up your 16ga Stainless butt welds (no flange pics!)

Curious to see where everyone is at, i'm going to be uploading some to post tomorrow afternoon tonight. Lets see where you are. Butt welds with filler, on 16 ga stainless. It'd be great to see non pulsed pics too.

I can find one off hand for now tell me what you think, this is consistent heat, no pulsing w/ filler

This was a 1G Talon external dump I made. It's 2" 304 Stainless Steel, fused(no filler is needed) and backpurged with Argon. Sorry but I cleaned it with scotchbrite so you can't see the colour. It was cleaner on the inside.

Here is the dump setup, I sold it and the guy had great success with it, hasn't cracked yet!(yes I'm surprised) I welded it to the cast piece with 309 filler.

I've been around lots of DSM's, owned a few even. I knew the owner of Slow Boy when his shop was his basement....I have never seen a dump done on a stock O2 housing like that. That's pretty crazy.

When you cut the hole for the external dump, did the tube you added block the cast passage to the DP or did you block it internally? Not to go off-topic here...just wondering.

I thought this thread would blow up a little more. I'm gonna have to go weld up a couple scrap pieces later.

I didn't snap a pic of the filled area, but it wasn't much to fill.

Sorry I don't have any pics of the weld on the inside.

I'm a certified, ticketed pressure vessel Tig welder that works in the brewing industry, I LOVE to do car stuff on the side, this was just a quick experiment to see if I could actually weld Stainless to cast and have it not crack, worked out well I think.
