Default tach wireing help

does any one know what wire on the back of the tach cluster is used for the tach i checked every wire on the connector but i didnt find the one i was looking for
i looked on alldata but they do not have wireing dighrams yet

what i did :
with engine running i was checking voltage at each pin and revd the engine to see if the voltage went up
i found that some of the pins i checkd the voltage would go up but not enough for me to think it was for the tach only went up .5v to 1v i was reving any where from 3000 to 6000 rpm

what i need : wireing diagram for the tachometer gauge cluster

why : iam going to make a shift light with a series of light same to a shift light found in a JGTC race car .... green yellow red shift!

yea i alrady know thecar has one but i thought it would be cool to make just for the hell of it

07 SI cp<<
any help would be great !!!

The tach signal is sent to the gauge control module from the pcm/ecm by the F-CAN circuit. There is no wire from the pcm or at the gauge cluster dedicated for the tach signal.

do you know what wire it is that go's to the pcm or what sensor the pcm gets the engine rpm from iam guessing it would be the CKP or cam shaft position sensor right ?
if you have any input on how to hook this up that would be cool
iam thinking about puting it in parallel to the signal wire and have risistor at each LED in other words say ill have 5 LEDs first LED will have a 1 ohm risister and LED two will have a 2 ohm risister etc... i will also hook up some fuses in series just to be safe as well

any input will be great !!

I dunno how the ECM caculates engine speed exaclty but you're probably right, its most likely from the CMP or CKP. CMP is pin C31 at the ECM a grn wire. CKP is pin C32 at the ECM a blu/yel wire. Good luck, I wouldnt know where to start with this.

i was just told that most after market shift lights connect to the ignition system tapd into the ground side of the coil seeing as how we have coil on plug this might be alittle more hard to hook up i was messing around today trying to see how iam going to wire the shift light together and blew up two LEDs it was kinda funny guess i had to much current lol
