Autometer 5" Tach Help.
Hey guys I am having troubles with getting my tach to work. I hooked everything up correctly but when I turn my car on it just sits at 7000 rpm. no movement at all. any ideas for me? the directions they sent aren't really helpful. I have the model with only the sift light adjuster **** & light, nothing else. Thanks in advanced, just kind of frustrated at this point.

its a sign that you should not use such a big obnoxious tach. get an oem gauge cluster that comes with one and ditch the monster tach.

Anyway, check the (Green I think?) wire from the tach and make sure it goes to the negative wire off the distributor. Which is the black wire off the coil I believe.

its the blue wire.
you can get a shift light seperate from a big *** tach if thats what you need. even if the factory tach is not perfectly accurate i'd much rather look at it over some ginormous tach that sticks out like a sore thumb. whatever floats your boat i guess.
