Default Broken rear trailing arm bushings: Dangerous?

My back left tire makes a little bit of a wobbling noise. Dealer mechanics said the rear trailing arm bushings are broken, and the tires are feathered. My amateur eye says the tires look fine, and the car drives fine. How dangerous is it to drive the car around town and on short freeway trips until I can afford to replace the bushings?
Should I take a look at them myself? I don't have a jack.
I heard some WD-40 can solve the noise problem.

Thanks

The trailing arm bushing controls the front/back movement of the wheel. That is important.

However, "broken" can have a variety of meanings. My 00 GSR with 63k miles has visibly cracked TA bushings. However, cracked is just cracked, and the car is just as stable as it used to be.

My 90 Integra has the original TA bushings, and at 208k miles, its somewhat "floaty" feeling in the back end. The alignment tech described them as "cracked, but intact", so I'm just driving as is.

I think the safety will be entirely determined by how "broken" they really are. If the rubber is still holding the center shaft in place, its fine. If you have excessive play, you stand the risk of chewing through tires, and could suffer from snap oversteer during a panic maneuver, which would be very dangerous.

Is "play" the same as wear/tear?

I believe they are just cracked. What's the easiest way to tell if I can get underneath it?
