Aluminum.

 

I think they're made out of metal.

They seem to break very easily.

 

 

 

How are you breaking them? If you breaking them when you assemble them, you need to make sure it's aligned before you start tightening down the bolts. If you're breaking them while driving then you need to raise your car up.

 

...Never said I was breaking them.

An aluminum alloy. Unfortunately, the castings seem to be somewhat poor, although durable to impacts while installed, they seem to fracture along the casting lines when they are mishandled outside the car.

Hint - don't drop one when you have it out.
