Default dualpoint to multipoint info

i just recently purchased an 88 honda hatchback shell, it has a pr5 computer and someone wrote 89 si with a marker on the computer. i also boght a 92 16valve hatchback motor to install on this hatch, the motor harness has grey pigtails and the car has milky white pigtails. ive been told that a harness for a 89 crx si will bolt right up to my engine and car. is this correct? i already changed the tranny to cable so that it could work on the car. pleas help me its my first honda swap so i have no idea if this is correct

yes. as long as you have the obd0 distributer, throttle body, intake, resister box, and o2 sensor. i beleave that is all to change the obd1 motor to obd0 parts.

Correct ECU would be a PM6.

The PR5 isn't exactly from an "89 Si", but it is interchangeable. USDM D16A6es ran a PM6. The PR5 is a SOHC ZC ECU from a pre-OBD JDM DA Integra, so it is similar to a PM6.

If it's a D15B7, most of those blow headgaskets. Are you sure the engine didn't have a bad head gasket before it was pulled?

The D16A6 engine harness will not plug into an '88 hatchback chassis harness, because all USDM '88 Civic hatchbacks had dual-point fuel injection. The D16A6 Si engine had multi-point fuel injection, and the harness connector pinouts are different. What you have to do is convert the '88 hatchback harness to run MPFI with bits from the Si harness.

the motor im installing has a d15 block with a d16vtech head, is that the engine that has head gasket issues? i was looking at a forum that gives direction on how to convert it to mpfi it says that i can use the motor harness from dpfi but i have to add two injector clips and a ressistor box. whats the best way to do it, buy an si harness or make mine work? im going to look for one now

Just use your harness and add the two injector clips and resistor box. Thats the only way that i've ever been told how to do it. Look at my post in the FS/WTB thread... i have all the parts that you need to do this part of your project.
